Are you a Felon?
The reality of life in the US today is that no body is perfect! Most people have had bad credit at one time or another, and many have made more serious mistakes that have resulted in the most serious challenge to their future… . a Felony on their record.
A felony for many professions is a “Deal Breaker.” The Insurance Industry takes a ‘case-by-case’ approach to this issue.
If you have a felony on your record, you must submit original certified copies of the charging documents, judgment of conviction, probation order, community supervision and/or parole certificate for each offense. You may provide letters of recommendations from any persons in contact with you that are aware of your criminal past. You are also allowed to tell your side of the story. The idea here is to not go on and on about social injustice and how you are a victim of the system, but to let them know that you are a changed person and are someone they can trust.
There are certain convictions that will not be given a pass regardless. And unfortunately they are not publicized, so you have to take and pass the pre-licensing course first, then submit your letters of recommendation and your side of the story and wait for the official determination by TDI.
