TDI RECIPROCITY STATEMENT

Texas’ version of the Producer Licensing Model Act became law on September 1, 2001.

Since that date Texas has been licensing nonresident individuals. Here is how it works… A nonresident must hold a license in good standing in their state. Their state must grant a nonresident license to a Texas resident on a reciprocal basis. Then the individual may apply for a Texas license. This will exempt the person from examination and criminal history report requirements. Also, Texas then waves fingerprint requirements.

The Texas Adjuster License is considered the most valuable adjuster license in the country. Over 30 states recognize this license. This allows an adjuster to work claims in most of the country.  Having a Texas license makes an adjuster much more valuable.

Some states offer state specific adjuster licenses. Often these state specific licenses are not reciprocal in other states. Serious adjusters understand the importance of being able to work a large geographic area. If you have questions about state specific adjusters license, click here . . .  State Requirements

This means that this one license gives you a virtual nationwide reach in your ability to work claims. Even if you have a license in another state, you will still need a Texas license.
