Becoming a Claims Adjuster just makes sense!

becoming a claims adjuster just makes sense

In looking for a job or choosing a career, we are told repeatedly to find something that we are passionate about and if we do, it will never be a “job.” I did that. I got into the music business and worked for the two largest Rock-N-Roll productions companies in the world – Showco out of Dallas, and Showlites out of London. For seven years I toured 20 countries with most of the top bands. It was a non-stop thrill ride that paid me an outrageous amount of money for doing what I would have done for free! Then I used my music contacts to get into the movie biz as a luma-crane camera operator for another 8 years.
.
Admittedly, I got lucky! It was pretty much a case of being in the right place at the right time. Will that happen for you?? Realistically… No. It has been my observation that very few people find something they are passionate about that will pay the rent!

.
Since this age old advice fails for most people, why not look for a career that PAYS WELL??!!

.
The insurance claims adjusting industry happens to be a seldom-considered gem of a career move. Adjusters have some extremely attractive benefits that you need to be aware of.
..
Income potential
.
What professions can you think of that pay $1,500 a day? Well, there are Doctors, Attorneys and Insurance Adjusters! That’s right, Insurance Adjusters can and do earn as much as $1,500 a day.
.
Making lots of money is great, but if you are working 60+ hours a week to make that, you are ‘time poor.’ The perfect job would be one that pays a lot of money but only requires you to work half the year. Wouldn’t that be great? Of course it would! Well that is the life of a Catastrophe Claims Adjuster!
.
When a major hurricane like Sandy, Harvey or Ike hits, or there is an outbreak of tornadoes, thousands of independent adjusters working those events will average over $400 per claim they close. A CAT adjuster with basic skills will close 2 or 3 claims per day. An good experienced CAT adjuster can close over 5 claims a day. Most CAT adjusters earn in excess of $100,000 yearly, but they earn that in typically 6 months time!
.
Ease of entry
.
Most careers with comparable earnings require 4 to 8 years of college and postgraduate study. But to become an adjuster, you just have to complete a few short courses that can be accomplished in a couple months or so.
.
A bachelors degree costs at least $10,000 per year. By contrast, you can become a licensed, trained, and “adjuster ready” with all the gear needed to begin your career for under $2,000.
.
Call your own shots
.
Claims adjusting is not a 9 to 5 job where you punch a time card. You are given a number of claims and are expected to work them to completion. You determine how long of a day you will work, not your boss.
.
Bottom line:
You can make a fantastic living helping people put their lives back together. Maybe you didn’t write “insurance adjuster” on your third-grade list of dream jobs, but you probably did want to do something that would bring you some adventure and a chance to help people. And an opportunity to make an outstanding income at the same time.
